I honestly think we have democracy & yade yada yada but what we need now is a revolutionary economic empowerment icon who will fight for the landz resources and the people's wealth, which is ritefully ours. The Europeans were attracted to our land becoz of its resources (black people included) so when the time came for them to hand back to us what's ours they give us democracy etc.. and Mandela, who will stand as an icon for freedom, democracy and peace, the only thing missing is economic empowerment. If Mandela let the people down, it can be becoz he never told the people how to empower themselves economically and independently from the descendents/ allies/ beneficiaries etc of the D.E.I.C

Those in the know will tell that Mandela has always had it good even whilst he was still in prison. For me the guy was given too much that was not due to him. He had ppl like Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe who suffered worse than him, the likes of Stevn Bantu Biko I mean the list is endless. U will never hear the Sisulu's of the world given credit for what they sacrified. I agree with this story they both sold us out even le yena Winnie must not come here and act all holier than thou she was part of all this, she is now angry because she never got to taste the life Graca had....

The reason why poor people will stay poor, the ignorant middle class will be doomed to be poor and the rich become greedy is becoz the greedy whites who gave us our land back, gave us freedom and democracy but they didnt give up our resources or redirect the industry's economy to Mandela or the ANC. The problem with people is that they view the ANC as a charity organization and some people viewed Mandela as the chairperson of the post apartheid government who was going to help each and every black person, treat SA's people as charity cases and raise funds from taxes. well the government soley has the responsibility of providing housing/ infrastructure/ health and education/ safety/ agriculture/ environment etc.. that is a rulling party's primary responsibility, the people are also responsible for assisting its country socially and through other forms of development to redirect wealth. What the black people need is industrial revolution so as to reclaim our wealth and economic development, then we will be concious of whats actually happening around the globe. we need real entreprenuers, we need foreign currency; we need to embark on international trade etc... if only the government is involved in this then development will be as slow as is.

Exactly Sean, since they were not prepared to give up the country in peace. In order to avoid SA suffering the same fate as other countries who got their independence from war, the boers realised the people's desire for freedom/ democracy, racial equality and the abolishment of apartheid so the ruling government had Mandela released and subsequently in SA there was independance and the land was owned by the ANC. However the only thing missing from freedom and democracy is economic independance and the redistribution of wealth.

but then there is the view that the apartheid regim whites would have not given up their land in peace. The country was already going into war, actually the war had long started. We were going to be like other African countries that got their independence from wars... it always ends up being a fight for powers amongst the blacks (Civil war).
